Since its establishment in 1985, Ushi no Hone Honten has been a well-loved restaurant in Kyoto's Pontocho, Nakagyo-ku.
The restaurant is located along the Kamogawa River and has an atmosphere of the good old Kyoto. We serve Japanese cuisine using seasonal ingredients grown in Japan.
We are highly selective, using only high-quality Japanese black wagyu beef, fresh fish of the season, and organic vegetables from the Tango Peninsula.
Because of Japan's distinct four seasons , you can enjoy the different delicacies in each season to your heart's content.

In summer, dine on the open-air riverside terrace.

In the summer (May 1st?September 30th), seats on a raised platform outdoors offering a view of Kamogawa River are available for you to enjoy the coolness of the summer evening while listening to the murmur of the river.
Feel the breeze while dining and become part of Kyoto's quaint townscape and your will be sure to experience the traditional elegance of Japan.


About the open-air riverside terrace

Two seatings are available: 5:00 p.m.~7:50 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.~11:00 p.m.
・During May to September, reservations are required.
(When reserving a meal course, the same course must be ordered by all at the table.
For children, the menu can be changed.)
・In case of rain, you can dine indoors.
・It may be possible to change your reservations for the number in your party
even on the day of your reservations. Please call us to make any changes.

Cancellation Policy

If you are more than 30 minutes late to arrive,
your reservations will be canceled unless you inform us in advance.
For no shows, you will be required to pay by bank transfer as follows:
・Total amount of reserved meal course × Number of people in the reservations
The above shall also apply for any cancellation on the day of the reservations.

 vinegar salad, grilled dishes.)
●Today's recommended four varieties of sashimi.
●Wagyu beef roll with Kyoto vegetables, presented as a soup.
●Tilefish and scallop mousse, sandwiched and grilled
●Corn risotto (varies depending on the current season).
●Chawan-mushi (savory egg custard) with delicious fish of the season.
 (Pike eel in summer, Golden Snapper fish in winter, and others.)
●Grilled beef fillet and vegetables. With the famous stew croquette.
●Inaniwa udon noodles
●Kyoto yuzu sherbet

For vegetarians, we have a meal course that excludes any animal products.Our homemade tofu and Kyoto yuba are famous.
We also have cuisine consisting mainly of fresh vegetables grown in Japan.
*The broth used is bonito and konbu.

Here is the menu for children.
Without changing the high-quality food items, a single plate serves a variety of food children can enjoy.
Udon noodles are also served at the end.
